Bevis has always been actively involved in music. Starting piano at 4, and violin at 8, there was always a symphony or chamber orchestra to play for, or a jazz or rock band. Studying music at university provided an opportunity to hone jazz arrangement/composition and jazz piano skills and he has since played piano for numerous acts, with styles ranging from baroque to pop to hip-hop.
He currently plays for singer-songwriter Alex Cornish, touring extensively, supporting acts such as Morcheeba, Starsailor, Alison Moyet, and Amy MacDonald, and performing at venues such as the Royal Festivall Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and Sage Gateshead.
There have been live radio sessions on Radio 2 (Dermot O'Leary), Radio 1 (Vic Galloway), and Radio Scotland (Tom Morton), and appearances on all three of Alex's albums (No Shore (2011); Call Back (2010); Until the Traffic Stops (2007)), tunes from which have made the Radio 2 playlist, and included in episodes of The Big C and Private Practice.
Bevis has piano, vocal and string arrangements published by Imagem Production Music, and in 2009 arranged the strings for the re-release of "There's No One Quite Like Grandma". Yes, really.
